The houses owned and managed by the Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council are provided to house members of the Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council under the NSWALC Community Benefits Social Housing Scheme.
These properties vary in sizes with 4 x 2 bedroom units, 6 x 1 bedroom units, 5 x 3 bedroom homes, 4 x 4 bedroom homes and 1 x 5 bedroom home. The homes are all of very high standard and have recently had solar power installed under the Aboriginal Community Housing Investment Fund program to help tenants better manage their energy costs.
All houses have undergone painting, internally and externally during 2021/2022. During 2013 the properties all underwent backlog repairs and maintenance under the Aboriginal Housing Office Build and Grow program. This funding allowed the properties to have extensive works carried out that included painting, new floor coverings, bathroom and kitchen upgrades.
The Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council are a registered housing provider under the New South Wales Local Scheme registration program. The management carried out by the Trangie Local Aboriginal Land Council of the Social Housing is reviewed by the Registrar for Community Housing every 3 years.
